On December 3rd, 2024, the Guangdong Top 500 Manufacturing Enterprises Summit and the Guangxi Chongzuo Promotion Conference for East West Cooperation between Guangdong and Guangxi were successfully held at the Oriental Hotel in Guangzhou.
The summit, with the theme of "New Quality Productivity Promotes Manufacturing Industry towards Innovative Development, Open Development, Collaborative Development, and Shared Development", implements national strategic deployment, promotes cooperation and exchange between Guangdong and Guangxi, builds a platform for Guangdong's top 500 manufacturing enterprises to connect and exchange with Guangxi Chongzuo's industries, focuses on the diversified development path of manufacturing enterprises in our province, and discusses the experience and responsibilities of enterprises in policy support, industrial transformation and upgrading, investment structure optimization, market development, etc., to promote Guangdong's manufacturing province to move towards a strong manufacturing province.
Ranked by annual operating income of enterprises, the total operating income of the top 500 manufacturing companies in Guangdong in 2024 reached 5.325 trillion yuan, a decrease of 4.9% from the previous year. The average operating income of enterprises was 10.652 billion yuan, and the total net profit of enterprises was 333.936 billion yuan, an increase of 16.56% from the previous year.
According to the "Research Report on the Top 500 Manufacturing Enterprises in Guangdong Province in 2024" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report") released on-site by Tao Feng, Dean of the Industrial Economics Research Institute of Jinan University, there are 11 enterprises with a value of over 100 billion yuan, 3 enterprises with a value between 50 billion and 100 billion yuan, 34 enterprises with a value between 10 billion and 50 billion yuan, 52 enterprises with a value between 5 billion and 10 billion yuan, 243 enterprises with a value between 1 billion and 5 billion yuan, and 157 enterprises with a value below 1 billion yuan.
Compared with the previous year, the number of enterprises with operating income in the middle to low range has increased to a certain extent. The operating income range between 1 billion and 5 billion yuan is the range with the largest number of enterprises and the highest growth rate. Tao Feng pointed out that 311 enterprises in the top 500 achieved revenue growth, an increase of 28 compared to the previous year, accounting for about 60% of the top 500 manufacturing enterprises. Among them, the enterprises with revenue growth in the 10% -30% range were the most, with 129 enterprises.
In terms of economic benefits, among the top 500 companies, there are 440 profitable enterprises, 56 loss making enterprises, and 4 unreported enterprises, accounting for 88% of profitable enterprises. The total net profit of the top 100 companies is 301.77 billion yuan, accounting for 90.37% of the total net profit of the top 500 companies. Among them, there are 36 top 500 manufacturing enterprises with a net profit exceeding 1 billion yuan, 30 with a net profit between 500 million and 1 billion yuan, 33 with a net profit between 300 million and 500 million yuan, and 104 with a net profit between 100 million and 300 million yuan.
